Enhanced comfort for overnight stays.
Project Overview
Camping is more popular than ever, and the campgrounds at Long Beach and Chippawa Creek conservation areas are seeing lots of activity and strong demand. As more campers look for serviced sites, it’s important that our infrastructure keeps pace – not just for today but for the years ahead.
NPCA is taking a phased approach to campground improvements, starting with electrical servicing. While future enhancements may be explored over time, upgrading electrical infrastructure is a necessary first step to support current use and enable any future improvements.
Much of the existing electrical infrastructure has been in place for many years. While it continues to function, it was not designed for today’s demand. These upgrades are a proactive step to address aging systems, improve reliability, and ensure our campgrounds can continue to meet expectations well into the future.
A careful, balanced, phased approach
In collaboration with engineering specialists, NPCA is assessing options for upgraded electrical service. This work is part of a wider, phased approach to enhance both the campgrounds and the overall visitor and camper experience.
Why this work is important
Our campers are at the heart of everything we do. We heard you.
Each year, we gather feedback through campground surveys, and those insights play a direct role in shaping this work. Whether staying for a weekend or the full season, our campers help define what makes these spaces special and where improvements are needed.
While feedback on the natural setting, trails, and overall experience remains very positive, one theme has consistently come forward over several years: the need for improved electrical service.
This project is a direct response to that feedback – informed by campers, for campers.
