The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) has completed the floodplain mapping project for Oswego Creek in Haldimand County and portions of Wainfleet to ensure accurate, science-based data informs land use planning and flood mitigation efforts.
Public engagement was a key part of this process, particularly for those living near the creek, and we thank all participants.
Since the project began in April 2023, NPCA has hosted three information sessions to gather community input and share important updates along the process.
Now in its final stage, the project has moved into a 30-day public commenting period, allowing residents to review the final floodplain maps and provide feedback before they are submitted for approval by the NPCA Board in July.
HOW COMMUNITY PARTICIPATED IN THE PROCESS:
- Reviewed the Final Maps – Viewed the proposed final mapping.
- Provided Feedback – Submitted questions or comments using the online Q&A tool below.
- Emailed Comments – Sent written feedback to Brendan Buggeln.
Online Feedback:
Residents were encouraged to review all available project documents and submit any final questions or comments before the 30-day public commenting period starting June 16, 2025.
We appreciate your engagement!
