The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) has been updating floodplain mapping for Oswego Creek in Haldimand County and portions of Wainfleet to ensure accurate, science-based data informs land use planning and flood mitigation efforts. Public engagement has been a key part of this process, particularly for those living near the creek.
Since the project began in April 2023, NPCA has hosted three information sessions to gather community input and share important updates along the process.
Now in its final stage, the project has moved into a 30-day public commenting period, allowing residents to review the final floodplain maps and provide feedback before they are submitted for approval by the NPCA Board in July.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED & PARTICIPATE:
- Review the Final Draft Maps – View the proposed final mapping.
- Provide Feedback – Submit questions or comments using the online Q&A tool below.
- Email Comments – Send written feedback to Brendan Buggeln, see contact on the right.
Online Feedback:
Residents are encouraged to review all available project documents and submit any final questions or comments before the 30-day public commenting period starting June 16, 2025.
We appreciate your engagement and encourage you to check back for updates as the project moves toward final approval.
