The Public Advisory Committee (PAC), established in 2014, is a voluntary, multi-stakeholder committee that provides diverse, sector-based perspectives, input, and advice to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) on watershed-related matters of community interest.

What is the purpose of the PAC?
Members collaborate with the NPCA Board of Directors and staff to help address environmental challenges and opportunities across the Niagara Peninsula watershed. The committee contributing to the implementation of NPCA’s Strategic Plan and other watershed strategies.
While the PAC does not influence NPCA policy directly, its work is essential in shaping meaningful projects, initiatives, and strategies that align with the NPCA’s mission and vision.

How often does the PAC meet?
Meetings are held quarterly on Tuesdays at NPCA's Administrative Office (3550 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold ON) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Meeting dates for 2025 are scheduled as followed:

PAC members are expected to attend regular meetings (approximately four per year) and review materials in advance. Depending on projects and initiatives, there may be occasional opportunities to contribute to working groups or additional events.
What happens after I apply? When will I hear back?
Applications will be reviewed by an NPCA staff working group and successful applicants will be selected based on the quality and relevance of the application as it pertains to the vacancy posting, and the candidates ability to meet the roles and expectations of members.
Recommended candidates will be contacted by staff and submitted to the NPCA Board of Directors for appointment through a confidential memorandum. The appointment(s) approved by the Board will be published in the meeting minutes. All applicants will be notified via email of the outcome of their application.
