We thank all participants! Only successful applicants will be contacted. The application has now concluded.

Thank you for your interest in the Niagara Peninsula Source Protection Committee!

The Source Protection Committee for the Niagara Peninsula watershed is made up of various representatives from the watershed such as municipal, agriculture, private landowners, industry, environmental non-government organizations, and members of the public.

The committee is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the creation and administration of the Assessment Report and the Source Protection Plan as per the Clean Water Act, 2006. The current Assessment Report and Plan have been approved by the Province in 2013 and the committee is focused on the following tasks:

  • Reviewing the annual progress report prepared by the Source Protection Authority. The annual report summarizes the progress made by various stakeholders in implementing the policies in the source protection plan; and
  • Overseeing any technical updates to the Assessment Report and Source Protection Plan as may be required.

A recruitment process was completed in early 2023 to fill all the representative seats on the committee. One vacancy for Public-at-Large remains open and applications are now being accepted to fill this seat.

Interested in joining? We encourage you to learn more about the Niagara Peninsula Source Protection Plan, review the Committee Member's Handbook, and submit an application below. Deadline: September 5, 2023 at 12 p.m.

Applications will be reviewed by an ad-hoc committee. The successful applicant will be selected based on the quality and relevance of the application as it pertains to the vacancy posting, and the candidates ability to meet the roles and expectations of a member.

The NPCA maintains a strong policy of equal opportunity and recognizes that diversity is a source of strength and works to champion inclusive attitudes and approaches to recruitment that lead to full and meaningful participation.
